Do it together
Go find a buddy. When you work with someone else, the chance of success is much higher.
The ideal scenario is when you find someone who has the same or a similar goal as you and who also wants to build a better mindset.
When you work together, you can help, support and encourage each other to persevere. This makes it easier to keep going and not give up.
“Teamwork makes the dream work.”
~ John Maxwell, American author, speaker, and pastor
More effective
Research shows that self-help works better when you do it together than when you do it alone.
An additional advantage is that sharing positive experiences and events also strengthens your positive feelings.
Occasionally
The cooperation does not have to be very intensive. A short online or offline meeting or a brief telephone conversation on a regular basis is often sufficient.
If you can’t find anyone who has a similar goal in mind and who also wants to build a better mindset, you can also just find someone who wants to help and support you.
For example, your partner, boyfriend, girlfriend, or a family member.
More perseverance
During any process of change there are different stages or phases. Sometimes it can be a bit more difficult or even feel like an emotional rollercoaster.
For example, because you are confronted with an obstacle or a barrier that you have to go through. Or because you have a relapse for some reason.
In these situations it helps if you share your experiences with someone who can support and motivate you. This makes it less likely you give up and quit.
“Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising again every time we fail.”
~ Confucius, Chinese philosopher and the paragon of Chinese sages
A relapse is not a bad thing and is part of any process of change.
The most important thing is to pick yourself up as soon as possible and try again. And a buddy can help you with this.
