Keep it positive

    Positive only

It may be that after writing down something positive, you might be tempted to add something negative to it.

For example, by trivializing it (“it’s not much”), depriving the choice (“I had no choice”), or placing the cause outside yourself (“this is because I was helped” or “I just was lucky”).

You may have even written this down. It is important not to do this.

    Stay away from the negative

Keep it positive and try to stay away as much as possible from thoughts that make it smaller or negative.

This weakens the positive experience and the positive feeling.

“People are too focused on the negative, with what’s wrong. Why not try to see the positives, to just touch those things and let them blossom?”

~ Thich Nhat Hanho, Buddhist monk, peace activist, author, poet and teacher

This does not mean that you have to suppress, hide or fight your negative thoughts and feelings.

These are also allowed to be there. Just don’t pay any attention to them.

“People with a positive mindset also have negative thoughts and feelings, they just choose not to dwell on them.”

Negative thoughts and feelings therefore have no place in your positive diary.

You use this diary purely and solely to let your positive thoughts and feelings grow and flourish.
