What is a positive diary?
A positive diary or journal is a tool that can be used to develop a (more) positive mindset, to maximize your potential and satisfaction in life.
A positive diary is best explained by the wise words of the old master Lao Tzu, the founder of philosophical Taoism.
“Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.”
~ Lao Tzu, Chinese Taoist philosopher and author of the Tao Te Ching
A positive diary helps you develop the habit of thinking the right things so that you can develop the mindset or character that will enable you to get the best out of yourself and life.
Super simple
In a positive diary, you register positive experiences. This means writing down your positive thoughts, feelings and behaviors. That’s it.
By doing so, you train yourself to shift your attention and awareness to the positive things in your life. And by zooming in on your positive thoughts, feelings, and behavior, they become bigger.
If you do this long enough, it will become automatic and you develop a habit of positive thinking, feeling and doing.
This means that a positive diary can help you develop the mindset or character that will enable you to get the best out of yourself and life.
